O’Young hopes damage can be fixed

Bamboo driver Darryl O'Young is optimistic that he can participate in the remainder of the World Touring Car Championship finale in Macau after sustaining heavy damage to his Bamboo Chevrolet Cruze in an accident during Thursday's test. "There is some concern that we have damaged a chassis leg, and I think the gearbox may also be broken," said O'Young, who has a large number of supporters in attendance for his 'home' race. "However, I am pretty confident that Bamboo can fix it." The Hong Kong racer lost control on the exit of the Mandarin corner, before sliding across the track and hitting the barriers nose-first.
