Markus Pommer secured pole position for the second Formula 2 race of the weekend at Hungaroring, with a blistering lap towards the end of the qualifying session. After the frustration of a boost-valve failure forcing him into the pits at the end of the formation lap on Saturday - robbing him of a front row start - the German driver ended the session 0.37 seconds ahead of race one winner Alex Fontana .
