IndyCar is reducing the amount of testing its teams are permitted to complete in 2013. With the field having had a year to get to grips with the new-for-2012 Dallara DW12 chassis and turbocharged engines, the series said it was logical to now trim the testing allowance as a cost-saving move. Teams' private testing will be reduced from six days to two, with engine manufacturer tests limited to two days each prior to the St Petersburg season-opener, and four rather than the previous six during the campaign.
