Motegi extends MotoGP deal
Motegi will remain MotoGP's Japanese home until at least 2018 after series organiser Dorna extended its contract with the Honda-owned track. The venue has been part of the MotoGP calendar since 1999, hosting the Pacific Grand Prix from 2000 to '03 before reclaiming the Japanese GP title when Suzuka was dropped. Dorna chief Carmelo Ezpeleta said securing the right Japanese venue for MotoGP was essential given that it was the home race for leading teams Honda and Yamaha.
